Spread trading requires fine tuning from time to time. We already own the January 2016 38 Calls so our goal here is to take in a little bit of premium so we can lower the cost basis of the leaps. Selling the March 38 calls will result in us holding a horizontal calendar spread.

This is a bullish credit put spread on a bearish gold ETF. I know that’s enough to confuse most people but the bottom line is that Gold is looking bearish for the short-term and I expect it to pull back. I’d rather sell a put spread in a bearish ETF then sell a call spread in GLD.
